Christine Richards
Owner and founder of Heaven Scent and the Canadian Institute of Alternative Medicine; Christine Richards attained her MD (MA) in Sri Lanka and now practices in Canada as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. One of only a few Canadian graduates of the Essential Oil Program at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. After practicing as a Acupuncturist, she attained her advanced certification in Canada and Doctorate in Acupuncture in 2002-3 and finally an international MD (MA) and DAc in 2004 while working in Columbo, Sri Lanka. In 2005 she started working on a more cellular level with Darkfield Microscopy which she completed her Advanced training in during 2006. In 2007 she attained an international license as a Biofeedback Therapist.

 
She continued her studies in Germany on homeopathy, iridology, mistletoe therapy and other natural remedies.  She is now working on a PhD in Auricular Acupuncture as practiced in Germany at this time.
 
Christine Richards is also a Certified Instructor/Practitioner, MIFHT, Reiki Master, Certified Crystal Healer, Massage Practitioner, Herbalist and Flower Essence Practitioner. She is a recognized instructor and a leader in the Canadian field of Aromatic Medicine and Acupuncture. She has trained and gained her advanced certification in Cosmetic Acupuncture (non surgical face lifts) with advanced acupuncture in 2007. This technique is commonly referred to as Facial Rejuvenation. 
 
As of July 2009 Christine Richards became a Certified Colon Therapist in Ontario to assist in the many cases of IBS and colon congestion that were presenting at the clinic.
 
She carries on a very busy practice, with a specialty in chronic degenerative disorders like cancer, MS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, blood disorders as well as fertility for men and women's and Quantum Medicine (QXCI). Her latest venture has taken her into emotional testing and remedies as well as preventative care for children and adults. Her love of technology brings her in contact with the latest methods and software for detecting imbalances in the body.
 
As of 2007 this clinic has been recognized by Metagenics as a "Clinic of Excellence" and was the only clinic in London to have attained this designation. Ms. Richards continues her studies in functional medicine by participating in several courses a year.
 
She continues to teach and instruct the certification courses as well as workshops for Heaven Scent and CIAM, private, corporate businesses and other schools.

Kathy Pye, Doctor of Acupuncture
Coming from a teaching background, Kathy now conducts auricular medicine in our clinic for a number of conditions and emotional issues with amazing results. She had studies in many countries and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. She also does thermography for breast screening and full body scans for a number of conditions including MVA's, fibromyalgia and pain related conditions.

Simon Wakefield, RMT
Give Simon the hardest or most difficult problems and you will see him smiling while you get amazing results. Simon has joined our team to tackle the tough, chronic pain and fibromyalgia patient treatments. During his tenure in Markham he was voted "best RMT" 5 years in a row. He will welcome the most stubborn, persistent and difficult pain cases. He works along side our other practitioners and compliments their work as well. He likes to work on serious athletes with injuries, fibromyalgia, and chronic conditions that has not responded to previous rehab attempts. He also uses at home videos to let patients work on themselves in between appointments and at home. We have had rave reviews from all of our patients who have had a treatment done. You will find that Simon does assessments, deep tissue massage, rehabilitation massage, sports massage, myofascial releases and general, overall, relaxational massage work.

Becky Collins, Professional Aesthetician and Skin Therapist
Becky is an enthusiastic graduate of the Advanced Esthetics Program from one of our local colleges. She is also completing her training in Dermalogica Skin Therapies and Professional Selling for Skin Care. Becky loves to discuss skin issues with customers in the store and encourages people to use the FREE skin analysis that she can offer. She uses Dermalogica in all of her facial therapies and body treatments. She is also offering relaxing hand and foot care, utilizing our Bleu Lavandre line, and can give you the best mani/pedi you have ever had. Becky also specializes in massage and can offer her clients several different types of massage. With Becky you can enjoy special spa packages such as 1/2 day at the spa or a full spa day for brides. She is equipped to handle any request you might have from head to toes in esthetics. Becky also offers professional make up applications for everyday wear to Bridal or photo shots and television.
Becky wanted to continue her holistic career and so has learned to give foot detoxes and core cleansing as well as the Ideal Protein Program to assist clients get to and maintain their ideal weight and structure.

Stefani Riley, RMT

Stefani graduated from D'arcy Lane college in 2009. She has always been intrigued by natural health and decided to pursue a career in massage therapy.  Her interests lie in deep tissue massage as well as trigger point therapy, and always looking to advance her skills.  She believes that building a relationship between the therapist and client is an important factor in providing an effective treatment plan. Stef likes to coordinate with other Doula's in offering excellent treatments during pregnancies.

Christopher Dunn, RMT

After graduating from the Massage Therapy Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2000, Chris followed his passion for travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands where he managed his own Massage Therapy clinic within Club Med. This was an ideal environment to allow him to focus on sports massage and injury recovery for both guests and staff.

After 2 years in Club Med, Chris joined the luxury spas of Celebrity Cruises. It was here that he learned many specialty treatments including hot stone massage, seaweed wraps and the basics of aromatherapy. Excelling in both therapeutic and relaxation treatments, he quickly became the Lead Therapist on the Spa team.Upon returning home to Canada, Chris registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and is excited to be resuming his Massage career with Heaven Scent. Chris has always had a passion for health and fitness. He played varsity Basketball for his college team, and remains active in the sport.

Jessica Atherton
Certified in Touch Therapy from Encino California.She is tiny; but she is mighty. Try one of her deep tissue massages for that " oh so good pain ". She is trained and experienced in Swedish Massage, Core Strength and Breathing techniques, Rotator Cuff Solutions and Sports Massage. We are delighted to have Jess join our team.

Marlene Mederios, RMT
Registered Massage Therapy Recently graduated from Medix, Marlene has joined us to practice massage therapy. Her interests lie in pregrancy massage and pain issues. She will be on call or in the store when you arrive. Don't hesitate to ask her questions that you might have on the benefits of massage in day to day life.

Andrea Price, Thai Massage Therapist
Andrea is originally from London Ontario, and attended Brescia University College (University of Western Ontario), majoring in Psychology, and minoring in Spanish.  After graduating from Brescia, she travelled to Busan, South Korea, to teach English for two years.  While vacationing in Thailand, her interests were sparked in learning Thai massage after having a treatment and loving it. So she moved to Chiang Mai, where she studied Thai Massage.  Since returning home to London, she has continued practicing, and is hoping to eventually expand her horizons to other types of massages.  
Thai Massage is perforned on a mat that is on the floor. It is a technique of pressure and stretches. Colin Paddon Ph.D, D.Ac., DNM, F.I.A.M.A.
The esteemed British professor is well recognized globally for alternative medicine. He received his Ph.D. in Alternative Medicine in 1997, from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine in Calcutta, India. His thesis on the 'Psychological Effects of Psychotherapeutic Plant Essences on the Limbic Area of the Brain' was published in 1997. He is a Reiki Master, a Registered Aromatherapist, Acupuncturist and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.

Colin Paddon has been an educational advisor to the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners, the Canadian Council of Certified Acupuncturists and the International Aesthetics Standards Canada. Colin Paddon has a strong practitioner's background and his love for people has successfully established his name in Complementary Medicine medicine in Canada.
